Morphous, the title taken from the greek meaning to form from shape creates the stage for an explorative path, in which I've pulled on various forms of expressive mark making in order to generate a dynamic free and to a degree traditional form of visual expression. Having freedom is the first objective but applying years of study and skill is the backbone to each piece. nothing is taken directly from influence but there is a meaningful depth of understanding in regards to theoretical practice. The works are freeform in as much as only a single thought is held at the start of each piece and then no mark is to hold representation. All expression is to lead away from the beginning. However the real task is to fall back in to the representational and see if a visual dialogue occurs. Is it possible to mix a pure abstract expression with a figurative one. It should then probably be noted that these works fall into a study category and may throw off a slight discombobulation as to continuity but that most definitely is the aim.
